The Constructions

Good taste, craftsmanship, innovation capability applied to lasts,
and contemporary style are expressed in different
processes and constructions.

Good taste and craftsmanship

GOODyear

The Goodyear method consists of a welt – that is, a strip of material, usually soft leather, which runs around the entire perimeter of the shoe – sewn first on the insole and on the upper and then on the sole.

This allows you to have a very comfortable and resistant shoe, which can also be soled many times. The fixing between welt, insole, upper and sole is performed with a seam or by a combination of seam and glue.

Blake

Blake is a technique for manufacturing leather footwear that foresees only one stitching that keeps together the sole, the linen, the upper and the footbed and enables that way to get a very resistant shoe, with a flawless design and a unique wearability.

SACCHETTO

The “Sacchetto” construction gives a special softness to the shoe on which is applied. Flexibility is the main feature that this construction conveys to the shoes. The most evident result is being able to bend the shoe between thumb and forefinger without any effort.

The construction procedure involves up to two hundred steps requiring outstanding skilfulness, experience and competence. During the sewing stage, the lining is attached like a “sac” along its edge permitting to build a shoe without the rigid components.  The flexible construction allows the application of heels requiring the incorporation of the insole and the heel. The shoe obtained will be so flexible, soft and robust at the same time, and will guarantee a unique fit to the wear.

Strobel

Strobel is a construction method that is widely used in light bending and lightening shoes. The Strobel seam is used to stitch the edge of an upper to a light insole forming a “bag”, before the outsole is injection moulded to the upper. This technique is mainly used for running shoes and trainers, where greater flexibility and lightness are required.
